Our client owns and manages a portfolio of more than 50 multi-let properties in East London and the surrounding areas.
It needed two dedicated staff members to deal with its utility bills. This involved the processing of bills, contacting different suppliers, dealing with the daily queries, meter readings, resolving incorrect billing and other disputes and changes of tenancy.
Additionally, there was also the issue of topping up numerous pre-payment meters, which meant that valuable time was spent going to sites, gaining access and emptying the meter of money. This also had security risk implications.
Dr Cost created a site list and meter query Spreadsheet. A course of action was taken to replace the pay as you go meters with more efficient credit meters. These ensure that any change of occupancy is completed in a timely manner.
As a result of this the company has saved 23% on costs amounting to annual savings of over £28,200 since 2017.
