Samuel founded Dr Cost in 2010. At that time, as now, businesses were being harassed relentlessly by utility suppliers and third-party agents to switch supply. Often these offers were not in their best interest. Samuel has, over the past 10 years, become an acknowledged expert in utility cost reduction, having learnt the industry from the bottom up. This expertise includes tariff identification, utility taxation and compliance, negotiating cost saving supplier agreements for businesses and charities, regulatory knowledge and dispute resolution. Samuel’s business now employs in excess of 10 staff serving over 8000 client supplies including direct partnerships with 31 suppliers, thus ensuring that the clients not only benefit from competitive prices but also bill validation. Samuel enjoys playing football, spending time with his children and travelling in his not-so-spare time.

Harris practically invented the words “cost savings”, combined with client service. Since market deregulation in 1998 Harris has been at the forefront of regulatory changes and industry evolution. He is the author of 15 books and innumerable articles on grant funding, cost saving and the Government’s book on trading with Russia. Harris’s knowledge of the market and relationship with suppliers ensures that his clients are taken care of in terms of price and after-sales service. Harris partnered with Dr Cost for all aspects of pricing and support in 2017 and as of 2018 has focused on dispute resolution and compliance. Harris enjoys travelling, writing, stamp collecting and mediating honest, sensible and fair resolutions to any dispute.
